Music and the arts are gifts of God's
creation and are vital expressions of our faith. The music at First
Presbyterian represents a variety of styles and traditions and everyone, of any
age and experience, is invited to participate. Please consider sharing
your gifts with us!
You are welcome here.

We present a variety of anthems, motets,
and hymns throughout the year, in addition to often combining with a chamber
orchestra to bring larger works from the classical repertoire to Sunday morning
worship. Recent works have included Handel's Messiah: Part I and
Mark Hayes' Child of Peace. All singers are welcome.
Rehearsals are on Wednesdays at 7:00pm.

All vocalists and instrumentalist are
invited to join! We are dedicated to leading and enlivening congregational
singing of contemporary and multi-cultural music. Repertoire includes
praise songs, Taize' hyms, and music from the global church that expresses
themes of social justice in the Christian tradition. Rehearsals are on
Wednesdays at 6:00pm.

Ringing a four-octave set of Schulmerich
handbells, we prepare music for Sunday morning worship, September through May,
and participate in special services throughout the year. Rehearsals are on
Thursdays at 6:30pm.

The youth music ministry at First Presbyterian is dedicated to nurturing
Christian faith, developing musicianship skills, and fostering community.
All children are invited to participate and opportunities for young people to
share their gifts in worship occur throughout the year.

Do you sing or play an instrument? Please
consider sharing your gifts with us during worship. All ages and
instruments are welcome. Accompaniment and assistance in preparing your
musical offering is available.
Special Concerts and musical events are planned
throughout the year. In you have an interest and skill with planning and
organizing such activities, or ideas for future events, your ideas and
assistance is always greatly welcome and appreciated! |
