Adult Nurture
Many events for our congregation are organized through our Adult Nurture
Committee. During the summer we have held concerts on the lawn, and
throughout the year we offer potluck brunches and dinners for families. One
of our favorite events includes a 50’s band featuring our own Don Wallace!
The Adult Nurture Committee also sponsors Hot Topics, a forum in
which the speakers and subject matter vary. From January to May, we gather
once a month for a potluck dinner followed by a discussion. On one Sunday,
we welcomed Dr. Dana Wilbanks from the Iliff School of Theology. His topic
was “The Just Theory of War”, addressing when it is appropriate for
Christians to approve of war on the basis of their faith. Dr. Wilbanks has
studied and written extensively on this subject and gave us much to talk and
think about.
