Board Meeting
March
14, 2005
Deacons present:
Martha Cosby, Dot Lindsey,
Caroline Suppes, Claire Scherer, Judy Wallace, Pricilla Foos, Gladys
Eckman, Rose Rupple, and Gail Brand.
Absent:
Dennis Scholes and Pat Wegman
Martha Cosby called the meeting
to order at 7:05 PM.
The opening devotion
was given by Judy Wallace.
Secretary’s Report:
It was moved and seconded
that the minutes of the previous meeting be accepted as printed. Motion
carried.
Treasurer’s Report:
It was moved and seconded that
the treasurer’s report be accepted as printed. Motion carried.
Committee Reports:
Communications:
Martha reported that 17 women attended
the “Movie Afternoon” at the Wallace’s.
Compassion:
No report

No report.
Events:
No report.
Unfinished Business:
We continued to question the
need for someone to answer the phone during the second service.
Late-arriving visitors should be helped by the ushers, especially during
the late service on Easter. (Rose volunteered to cover for Judy at the 8
AM service on Easter.)
Donut duties seem to be
going along just fine.
There seems to be some
confusion as to what the criteria are for assistance from Almost Home. We
hope to get some clarification on this before the next meeting.
New Business:
The Plant Sale is on the
calendar. Gladys and Dot will contact Horiuchi Greenhouse and begin
putting all the details in place for the April meeting. The pre-orders
will be available for pick-up on Saturday, April 14th. Open
sales will be on Saturday and Sunday, April 15th.
The Deacons Festival is on the
calendar for September 25th. Martha distributed a list of
basket ideas.
We were reminded that the
offering collected on Maundy Thursday is given to the Deacons. As many of
the deacons as possible are needed to help with this collection.

Prayer Requests:
Friends of the Scherer’s who
are the new parents of triplets; Ruth Cade; Marcene Brand; Dick Brand;
Rose Rupple’s daughter and son-in-law; Ken Lambert; and Doris Reynolds and
the Anthony Family.
The closing prayer was
given by Judy.
The meeting was adjourned at
7:40 PM.
The next meeting will be
on April 11 at 7 PM.
